DIGITAL STRATEGY AGENCY
Define your next move.
Most projects don’t fail because of the build or execution. They fail because no one understands the full picture before they start.
Define is where we do the unglamorous but essential work. We take time to understand your business, users and timelines to create a complete digital strategy. Then, every decision that follows is grounded in evidence, not assumption.
Most projects run into issues not because of bad design or development, but because nobody agreed on the destination before setting off.
Define is how we fix that.
As a digital strategy agency, we work with your team to understand your business, users, and goals before anything gets built or designed.
You'll come away with a clear roadmap of what needs to happen, in what order, and what success looks like. That way, when you move into Design and Build, you’re all moving in the right direction.
We define first. Because guesswork is expensive.
What Define looks like in practice.
When everyone's heard early, the whole project moves faster, and costly misalignments get avoided.
So, we talk to the people who matter most inside your business to understand goals, time pressures, and what success looks like.
Stop assuming. Start building something your target audience will use.
We get in your customers heads. Through desk research, interviews, and workshops, our experts discover what they need, where they struggle, and what’s stopping them from converting.
Without a clear goal, projects drift. With one, you minimise admin and maximise the budget.
Our experts turn user research, stakeholder interviews, or business goals into straightforward steps. This means every design, decision, and build we suggest has a clear reason behind it.
The best time to resolve disagreements? Before the project’s started.
Hands-on in person or virtual sessions gets your teams aligned, making sure any problems are raised and nothing important gets missed before we start.
Make sure the only thing your customers notice is your products.
We map out how your content and navigation should be structured so users can find what they need without thinking about it. When done correctly, this reduces user frustration and maximises time on page and customer satisfaction.
Redesigning around broken or irrelevant content is one of the most common, and easily avoidable, reasons projects underdeliver.
So, we review what you’ve already got.
We analyse what’s working, what’s outdated, and what gaps need filling before anything is redesigned.
We review your website and user journeys against established usability principles. This is a fast and efficient way of surfacing any issues without needing to hire testers.
This gives you a clear prioritised list of problems to fix before issues get carried into a future phase of your project.
It’s hard to argue with a heatmap. We provide you with real user evidence to make stakeholder sign off easier.
Watch real people interact with your site to see exactly where they look, hesitate, and drop off. It’s a fast way to understand issues without running a full recruitment process.
Discovering a platform constraint halfway through a build isn’t just annoying. It’s expensive.
We maximise your budget by reviewing your current platforms and third-party tools to understand what to keep, what to replace, and where to build a workaround to make sure your website or app works exactly as you need it to.
A redesigned site dropping SERP rankings is all too common.
To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, we identify any structural issues that could hinder your search visibility, before the build. We’ll also identify some low hanging fruit opportunities, to make sure your new site is found easier.
Without understanding what success looks like, it’s impossible to know if the project worked.
So, we always agree up front what good looks like. This means you know exactly what to measure, and when you can confidently call the project a success.
Knowing what you’re up against helps you make deliberate choices early on.
We analyse how your competitors are positioning themselves and performing online, so you can see the gaps your business can fill to get ahead.

Got a good foundation?

Uncover hidden user frustration in our UX Lab.
Got a site that made sense in the boardroom, but not to your customers?
Our UX lab shows you why.
With state-of-the-art equipment, pre- and post-task interviews, and heat maps generated from eye tracking, this purpose built UX lab uncovers what your users really do on page, not what they say they do.
Digital strategy questions, answered.
A written strategy with prioritised recommendations, a roadmap of what needs to happen in what order, and agreed KPIs so you know what success looks like.
Depending on the scope it also includes stakeholder and user research findings, information architecture, a content audit, a tech stack review and a technical SEO audit.
It is a document you can hand to any team, not just ours.
Not necessarily.
If your brief is grounded in user research, has agreed success measures, and everyone internally is aligned on it, you can go straight to Design.
Define exists for the more common situation, where a brief reflects what the loudest person in the room wanted rather than what the evidence supports.
We will tell you honestly on a 30-minute call which of those you have.
Yes, and plenty of clients do.
Define is deliberately built as a standalone piece of work with a deliverable you own outright, so you can take the strategy to your internal team, to another agency, or put it out to tender.
We would rather produce a strategy you act on elsewhere than one you never use.
A heuristic evaluation is an expert review, usability testing puts real people in front of your site. In a heuristic evaluation, our specialists assess your site against established usability principles, which is fast and cheap and surfaces the obvious problems without recruiting anyone.
Usability testing in our UX Lab shows you what actual users do, which is slower and more expensive but settles arguments an expert opinion cannot.
Most projects benefit from the evaluation first, then testing on the things it cannot answer.
One decision-maker with authority to sign off, plus the people who own the outcome day to day.
Stakeholder interviews work best when we speak to the people with conflicting priorities, not just the project sponsor, because unsurfaced disagreement is the single most expensive thing in a digital project, and it always comes out eventually.
We tell you, and that is the point.
Finding out at the strategy stage that a planned feature solves a problem your users do not have costs a fraction of finding out after build.
It is an uncomfortable conversation that saves money, and it is why we would rather run Define than skip it.
